3. Game Changers Conference – In conversation with Catherine Ball

6. Storyology 2017

When: Thursday, 24 August to 26 August 2017

Where: To be confirmed

In 2016, nearly 500 media professionals and storytellers from all over the world attended this conference. Hosted by the Walkley Foundation, the international festival presents an invaluable opportunity to mix and mingle with like-minded professionals and hear their diverse opinions and voices. 7. AMPed Events

When: Year-round

Where: Brisbane

8. Seretones Music Festival

When: Sunday, 4 June 2017 from 1:00PM to 10:00PM

Where: The Brightside, Brisbane

If you’re into the local music scene, support QUT Entertainment students by heading to Brightside this Sunday for Seretones Music Festival. The line up features acts Port Royal, Gnightz, The Seefelds, Pink Matter, Devel with more to be announced. Reserve tickets here.

9. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival

When: Sunday, 27 August to 31 August 2017

Where: To be confirmed

Fashion mavens exult; Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival is back in 2017 with plenty of opportunities to get your hands on some valuable work experience. The annual premier fashion event provides a platform to showcase some of Australia’s best design talent. Dazzle some up-and-coming and established creatives by volunteering your time behind-the-scenes. Applications open in July.

10. Brisbane Festival

When: Saturday, 9 September to 30 September 2017

Where: Southbank Parklands, Brisbane

A list of Brisbane media events would not be complete without the biggest international arts festival right in the heart of Brisbane. The Brisbane Festival offers internships to help coordinate a range of theatre, music, dance and circus events. Applications open from May to August.
